 About the Indian Society of Extension Education, New Delhi

 The Indian Society of Extension Education (https://www.iseeiari.org/./) was established on June 22, 1964 with the objective to advance the cause of Extension Education. At present, there are more than 2000 life members with the mission to advance the cause of extension education. This Society is publishing quarterly Research Journal entitled, ‘Indian Journal of Extension Education’ since 1964. The Society organizes Seminars, Symposia, Workshops and Conventions at National and International levels on topics of national and international importance from time to time. The first National Seminar by ISEE was organised in 1967 which paved the way for establishing extension education as strong discipline. The Society has brought out several Proceedings, Compendiums, Souvenirs, Seminar recommendations and Books for policy advocacy. Indian Journal of Extension Education is its official quarterly publication of the society. The society focuses on following mandated activities as its objectives:

  1. Publishing an extension education journal, which is called the Indian Journal of Extension Education, books, monographs etc. The journal publishes research articles, research notes, research tools book-reviews, reports etc.
  2. Facilitating closer association amongst members and other scientific workers in India and abroad for promoting professional experience in teaching, research and extension.
  3. Encouraging fundamental as well as applied researches in the field of extension education.
  4. Organizing National/International symposia, Seminars, Workshops, Conferences,
  5. Training Programmes etc. for dissemination of scientific knowledge among scientists, extension personnel, policy makers, and administrators.
  6. Undertaking any other activities as approved by the Executive Council of the Society.

The membership is open to individuals and institutions actively engaged or having interest in the field of Extension Education subject to approval of executive council and general body. Any such individual or institution may become a member by paying the membership fee. For type of membership, eligibility etc. may refer to ISEE Constitution.

The society operates and carries day-to-day affairs according to the general policy of the society through its Executive Council, elected for a period of three years by the life members. The organizational structure and other details are mentioned in ISEE Constitution. The Indian Society of Extension Education have its State chapters, named after the zone it is located in.

A member may withdraw from the society by expressing his desire to do so in a letter addressed to the Secretary of the Society. Any member may be removed from the society for his anti-society activities.
